BIC Construction is proud to have served as general contractor for Horizon Community School, a $2.7 million early childhood education campus that opened in Spring 2025 in Marin City, California. Celebrated across Marin County as a major investment in community equity and early learning, the new permanent campus was built by BIC Construction in partnership with Marin Horizon School and architect Dorman Associates, Inc. a school construction project in Marin City that gives the community a lasting home for its youngest learners.
Horizon Community School is a preschool initiative of Marin Horizon School, founded in 2017 to address the lack of access to affordable early childhood education in the Marin City community. The campus serves up to 48 children ages two to four from Marin City and the surrounding area, providing essential preparation for kindergarten and the years beyond. The opening was covered by the Marin Independent Journal in May 2025.

What BIC Construction Built
BIC Construction’s scope of work spanned new site infrastructure for four modular buildings, complete interior finishes across three new classrooms and an administrative building, two new outdoor playgrounds, and comprehensive hardscape and landscape development across the campus set on a site adjacent to Saint Andrew Presbyterian Church in Marin City.
Ground was broken in Fall 2023, and the school moved into its completed campus in Spring 2025. Throughout, BIC Construction led a highly integrated build, coordinating closely with Marin Horizon Schools ownership team, Dorman Associates, and the Marin City community so that every phase met the project’s operational, programmatic, and safety requirements. It is the kind of work BIC values most building spaces that strengthen a community.
